Evolution of Roadside Shrine

The aim of this study is to look at the architectural evolution of the road side shrines. It explores a number of inter related themes responsible for such evolutions , of which some are primarily sociological (relate to structure of societies) which depend on religious and cultural practices while others deal with planning , appropriateness of place (shift from small to bigger forms) etc. It presents evidence of changes in the form, location, deities, iconography, popularity, etc. of shrines in the city of Ahmedabad.

This research thesis aims to explore the design of an exhibit that effectively connects animals to their natural habitats, addressing their social, physical, psychological, and behavioral needs. The primary objectives are to create an engaging area of public interest, develop a master plan for a regional-level zoo that considers the natural resources of the surrounding environment, and deepen the understanding of the natural habitats of both wild and exotic fauna species. By focusing on these goals, the study seeks to enhance the integration of animals with their environments, promoting both animal welfare and public education.
